Male pelvic pain and pelvic floor physical therapy for men

Four Corners Physical Therapy is proud to be recognized as a center of excellence for the evaluation and treatment of male pelvic pain and dysfunction. Physicians in NYC and New Jersey confidently refer their patients who have complex issues that might involve the urologic, colorectal, gastrointestinal and orthopedic systems.  Unfortunately it might take several visits to find the right physician who recognizes that pelvic pain and bladder and bowel issues can be be related to the musculoskeletal system and their pelvic floor muscles.

Many of the men who come for treatment for pelvic pain are relatively young, fit and active in their work and family lives. They typically report penile, testicular and scrotal pain, bladder urgency and frequency and can’t exercise or have sex like they used to. Most also tell us that sitting is really painful.  Some men have had surgical procedures for the hip, hernia repair or prostate.  Men who have had a prostatectomy often are not told that leakage will follow. They are very frustrated and tired of being in pain or running to the bathroom or wearing man diapers.

So how do we treat men with pelvic pain and other pelvic floor dysfunction?

Go to our website and read about what we do. But check back here soon and we will be adding another blog dedicated to treatment for men.
